The Telling of MY STORY

ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES:
AN AFREEKAN’S STORY
TOLD BY
THE TRAUMATIZED TRAUMATOLOGIST

RACISM NON~ANONYMOUS
CAUSE RACISM IN THE LIVES OF AFREEKAN DESCENDANTS IS NOT A SECRET

This is my Story and I’m Sticking to it!

"Anytime you find someone more successful than you are, especially when you're both engaged in the same business-- you know they're doing something that you aren't." - Malcolm X (Page: 21).

“The United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 64/169 by consensus on December 18, 2009, proclaiming the year beginning on, January 1, 2011, the International Year for People of African Descent, with a view to:
Strengthen national actions and regional and international cooperation for the benefit of people of African descent in relation to their full enjoyment of economic, cultural, social, civil and political rights, their participation and integration in all political, economic, social and cultural aspects of society, and the promotion of a greater knowledge of and respect for the diverse heritage and culture of people of African descent… the goals of the year which are Recognition, Justice and Development.”

“Hurt People, Hurt People” ~ M.E.

“Humans are social beings, who exist in human relationships” ~ Regina Andresen

White people, in their relationship with not only the Afreekan Descendant, yet, all peoples in the world for which they have had contact have spread E.V.I.L. (European Viral Infection LIES). In their wake is a well documented history of causing ACTS OF INTENTIONAL HARM leading to the death and destruction of the HUMAN Spirit, Psyche with the tearing down and installation of a faulty cultural story.

It is useful for me that they have done such an excellent job of practicing what they preach and teach. Presenting, reference is made to the teaching that “if it’s not written, it does not count”.

Knowledge, if it is to be accepted, must be documented in some way so as to provide proof of that we you say you know about anything. This LIE has been extended even to the knowing of self, individually and collectively. Towards that end they have in fact provided excellent documentation of their long-standing historical atrocities perpetrated first amongst themselves then supporting their LIES going viral across the globe.

So to has the Africans story and their relationship with the European been well documented and in fact, current thinking and behavioral indicators highlight the outcome of that union. Their pathway to death and destruction for the African descendant has not diverted its course and path of Cultural destruction with acts of pure E.VI.L. I must warn you, my African mind thinks and processes information utilizing in metaphors, anagrams and parallel processes.

Afreekan people the world over bear the scars of mental, emotional and behavioral health abuse inflicted by the LIES told about our true Cultural story. Those LIES and half truths continue to be told inflicting upon another generation of Afreekan Descendants ACTS OF INTENTIONAL HARM in the form of Educational abuse. Our thinking or mental processes appear to be quite faulty given the “choices” we make in our daily lived experiences. The tragic state of our communities is alarming, at least to those of us who are a part of them. Drug abuse, mental illness, economic depravity, violence domestic and communal, engagement with the legal system and major physical health challenges are the primary markers of said tragic state and “failure” to grow and develop as other ethnic/racial groups have who profess a different Cultural Story separate and apart from that of the European.

The emphasis on ACTS OF INTENTIONAL HARM is in place to take into account the significance of the action as well as the impact and influence on current behaviors by all members of the ‘human’ race.

This “black paper” will share information regarding my EXPERIENCES, STRENGHTS AND PLANS (herein referred E.S.P.) related to the process of RE~Covery from the faulty Cultural Story I have been FORCED to live and offer an avenue for others to follow when they become R.A.W. (Ready, Willing and Able). My E.S.P. will be drawn from personal, professional and educational venues and

As an Afreekan child growing up in the sixties, my goals were to move at least, into the social status of the Middle class. Being a member of the middle class meant owning a home, car, bearing children with a husband, having the ability to travel and generally, and most importantly, being economically self-sufficient. The means for attaining this goal was to get a college degree. With that, my mother said, one could “write your own ticket” to life. I would not be ‘dependent’ on NO MAN, be he white or black.

Well, I am now over the age of fifty and as I review my progress I find that while I have obtained the college degree on the Masters level, and earned a middle class salary, I am still dependent on “THE MAN” to employ me.

All these things were to lead to happiness and it’s no wonder that “happy ain’t no friend of mine” (Tanya Stephens). Instead, I have no home and am, legally speaking, homeless. I have no car and am not financially secure to get one. I have produced no children, am not in a healthy marital relationship, have acquired no respect or regard as a scholar, can make no money from natural
in~borne entertaining qualities like singing or sports. I live one paycheck away from not being able to assure my basic needs of food, clothing and shelter and therefore according to the current standards, I have “failed” and am “a failure”. “Failed” and with failing health and waning Spirit. What else could account for this terrible state of aloneness and loneliness I am experiencing, if I weren’t “a failure”? I’ve been “forced” out of just about every community, group (including family), friendship and partnerships because of my being a failure.

“Success” in this societal system, is defined as having attained goals set or having attained a particular social status. “Failure” is viewed as the opposite, where one experiences her or himself as not having done the same. Based on those basic meanings of the terms, I have failed and I admit it. I have become an utter and complete “failure”.

As I sit and ponder my situation, I have to review and wonder; “how did this happen”? How is it that despite 18 years of education, 15 years in therapy, 25 years of work experience in my field of study, how is it that I am where I am? In answering that question another arises, “Is it because I’m Black”? Could my “failure” be connected to the fact that I live and exist in a SYSTEM of racism/white supremacy? In response to that, my answer is YES! That is exactly what it is.

Now many may wonder how I could possibly come to that conclusion. Many others have affirmed that being “black” has nothing to do with one’s ability to be ‘successful’ in this great country. After all, it is the “land of the free and home of the brave”. People here, in Western Civilization are free to be anything they desire. Still others would challenge the notion that I had “failed” and, having come to know all that I have, that assertion would be correct. I shall come back to this after I’ve told my “failure story”. This story, along with the noted solution to the problems supporting my “failure” will highlight the very “success” that I live as an Afreekan Descendant. If you continue listening, I'll tell you more.
